Dr Patricia Thornton and Professor Rana Mitter appear on 'Pick of the Week' discussing the Cultural Revolution

An episode of BBC Radio 3's 'Free Thinking' programme (11 May), hosted by Rana Mitter and featuring Patricia Thornton, has been chosen to appear on BBC Radio 4's 'Pick of the Week' programme.

The 'Free Thinking' episode explored the lasting impact of the Cultural Revolution, on the 50th anniversary of its implementation.  The chosen clip shows that both Patricia and Rana are in less than total agreement with historian Frank Dikötter's interpretation of the Cultural Revolution's legacy.
